Need help with your SEO?

I thought it was about time we wrote a small ‘how to’ on the subject search engine optimisation. It can be a tough and technical job, which is why some companies have their own in-house SEO professional. Here we are, going to give you some tips and advice on how to do the basics of SEO.

Ok, first and foremost. You need to provide high-quality content on your pages, especially your homepage. This is the single most important thing to do.
Tip: Think about how you would search for information you needed. Think about the words users would type to find your pages and include those words on your site.

Check and re-check all punctuation and spelling on your site. There is nothing more off putting than trying to read somethung fill off speeling mistakes right? Well, if you don’t spell things correctly then the search engines wont be able to read it properly either.

When it comes to writing titles for search engines, the first thing you have to know is this…you only have 65 characters to write your headline. Anymore than 65 characters and your title will get cut off in a search result.

Your Meta Description is another important task. Front load keywords that are relevant to the article. If you like formulas, ask “Who? What? Why? When? Where? How?” That’s a formula journalists use to report. It works equally well writing descriptions.

Try and keep your website looking good by being a minimalist.  Good SEO involves good web design. That’s one of the latest trends in the SEO world, and you can’t ignore it if you want to rank above the fold on search engines.

Digital Social Media It IS The Future

Unless you have been living in the middle of the desert for the past 5 years without Internet access, then you should know that social media is a massive deal right now. Around 80% of adults use some form of social media, and that number is steadily increasing, even among 55-65 year-olds. If you want to get ahead in your industry — and appear savvy to your target audience, then creating a social media presence is absolutely necessary. Here are some reasons why your business definitely needs social media:

As I am sure you hate phone calls, customers hate phone calls, being on hold for hours, and e-mails left unattended. In the world of social media, however, users can leave comments/opinions right on your pages and blog posts — and you can respond directly to them, with little cost to you. If you are friendly, helpful, and quick, customers feel like their opinions matter and you can improve your brand image and name. You can also monitor your online reputation through social media by doing a quick site search on company keywords and keeping track of these periodically. In a nutshell? Social media helps your company to avoid being impersonal and faceless, and build better relationships with your customers over time.

Maybe you aren’t sure if you need social media as part of your business strategy right now.

You have too much stuff going on, or you just don’t care.

Just think about this: Are your competitors using it???

Do you think it’s working for them?

What are the odds that customers are going to them instead of you because of their social media presence?

If they are getting customers, possibly your potential customers, what does one or two customers mean to your bottom line?

Can you afford to not do social media as part or your marketing strategy now?

Our job isn’t to tell you what to do, it’s to let you know what your options are, and what’s best for your business in the short and long term.

The world around us changes so much and fast. Maybe you are scared of computers, I know a lot of people are scared of the words ‘Facebook’ or ‘twitter’, but I feel businesses need to draw the attention of these certain people that used to socialise outdoors but now do it on computers and mobile phones. Drag them back to your shops and businesses, give them a reason as to why your business is the best.

Don’t sell yourself short either!

46% of Facebook users say they would talk about or recommend a product on Facebook

44% of twitter users have recommended a product.

58% of people said that if they tweeted about a bad experience, they would like the company to respond to their comment.
